ANAU Library was replenished with
ancient scientific literature
In March 2019 Books of Tirov Library of ANAU “Voskehat Teaching Experimental Farm” was carried over to the Library of the University. The fund includes multilingual antique scientific books, reports, scientific papers, journals, newspapers on viticulture winemaking, and agriculture published in different countries from the mid-19th to the mid-20th centuries
Library staff has undertaken the renovation and development of antique literature, which has become a part of library’s everyday ordinary activities.
3379 books has been renovated by the Library staff. The rest of the literature was sorted by the complexity and cost of works, journals were sorted by names, dates and serial numbers to move to the printing house for repair.
“As the transferred fund reached us in a state of disrepair, and a large number of books and journals could not be repaired” – Hasmik Adamyan, acting head of ANAU Library. Report on works done and to be done were represented to Hrachya Tspnetsyan, vice-rector for science.
Currently the process of entering of directory with KOHA program is in process. In the future the Tairov Library Fund will be moved to the online catalog of libraries in Armenia.
As Ms. Hasmik informed that the absence of the mentioned books and journals in the catalogs makes data entering process harder and Library of Armenian National Agrarian University is the first describing them.
ANAU library fund will be enriched with valuable multilingual scientific literature, which will be available to our students.
